Program overview
The Program is designed to prepare students primarily for research-oriented careers in academia, but also for multinational companies, public and private organizations, financial institutions so that they can interpret business phenomena in an integrated way, using the general methodological principles for quantitative and qualitative research in the social sciences, with the perspectives offered by the subject areas of corporate finance, accounting and management engineering.
The Program, refers to the fields:
- Manufacturing engineering, Plant engineering and Management
- Business administration.
Program description
The Program admits a maximum of nine Ph.D. applicants.
The admission offers will be inclusive of financial support, defined as follows:
- 6 places with exemption from contributions for access and attendance and provision of scholarships;
- 1 place with exemption from contributions for access and attendance and enjoyment of scholarships funded by Esselunga S.p.A. with research on the topic: "Study of the opportunities and ways to use data analytics and simulation to support the planning of the activities of the centres of production and/or sales";
- 2 places with exemption only from contributions for access and attendance.
Duration of the program is 3 years.
Courses are offered in English.
After the methodological courses the program is organized in two tracks: Management - Finance and Accounting
Research projects and scholarship
- Esselunga S.p.A.
Esselunga S.p.A. funds a scholarship with research topic on: “Study of the opportunities and ways to use data analytics and simulation to support the planning of the activities of the centres of production and/or sales”.
- Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany
One of the places of the Program is aimed at the realisation of the project "The process of internationalization of SMEs - the penetration of Italian companies in the German market and German companies in the Italian market" under an agreement with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany.

Applicants: any person who holds a Master’s degree or equivalent foreign qualification in the following areas: Economics; Management; Finance; Industrial Engineering; Public Administration
