Seminario di ricerca
Relatore: Dott.ssa Rafaela Gjergji
Abstract
The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of family management in the relationship between different types of collaborative networks and technological innovation. In particular, the work empirically investigates whether family management exerts a moderating role in the relationship between business and scientific partners and the occurrence of technological innovation. The latter refers to the innovation performance/output not only in terms of product and process innovation but even in terms of number of innovative products obtained by the firm. To test our hypotheses, we used two different regression models (negative binomial regression and logistic regression) based on a longitudinal sample of Spanish manufacturing firms over the period 2008 – 2014. Our results show that family management has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between business partner-type and technological innovation, while it has a positive moderating effect when collaboration with scientific partner-type is in place. Our findings also confirm the positive impact of family management on the innovation performance.
